After being closed for three consecutive days, offices, courts and banks are opening on Wednesday (July 24). In the executive order, the Ministry of Public Administration announced a general holiday in government, semi-government and autonomous institutions from last Sunday to Tuesday. Bangladesh Bank and Supreme Court are closed on these days as per their decision.

The government imposed a curfew across the country from 12 midnight last Friday amid a complete shutdown announced by anti-discrimination student activists. Despite this, people started protesting in several areas of the capital. Although the government said earlier, this movement is no longer in the hands of the students. The government claims that Jamaat-Shibir and BNP have destroyed state property by vandalism and arson.

In such a situation in the country, the Ministry of Public Administration announced a general holiday from last Sunday by executive order. Then on Tuesday afternoon it was announced that offices, courts and banks will be open on Wednesday and Thursday. However, office activities will continue from 11 am to 3 pm on these two days. And on these days the curfew will be relaxed from 10 am to 5 pm.
