The French are happy at work, for the most part. And the Covid-19 epidemic, which some say led to an “epidemic of laziness”, has changed nothing. A study by the Institut Montaigne, carried out by the economist Bertrand Martinot and published this Thursday, intends to “go beyond received ideas” on the “French at work”, while the question came back to the fore on the occasion of the pension reform.

Thus, more than three quarters (77%) of the more than 5,000 working people questioned say they are satisfied with their work – they express a degree of satisfaction greater than or equal to 6/10 -, i.e. a proportion “remarkably stable over time”, notes the study. The points of satisfaction are also unchanged, whether it is the interest and the content of the missions carried out, the quality of the relations with the colleagues and the working time.
