Officers breaking Ayodhya hall lock; Public, spiritualists turmoil

by time news
Chennai: The incident of breaking the lock of the Ayodhya Mandapam in West Mambalam, Chennai and entering the premises of the Hindu Temple Department has caused great turmoil among the people of the area. The public protested, saying it was “reprehensible” that Hindu temple officials had acted in an attempt to seize the hall without following legal procedures.

Ayodhya Hall, West Mambalam, Ariyagoda Road, Chennai, built in 1954. This hall symbolizes the area. From the spiritual discourse, all kinds of pujas of the Hindus are held here daily in a special way. Kanchi Maha Periyavar donated the hall to flourish. The ‘Sriram Samaj’ organization which was managing the hall was accused of engaging in financial irregularities.

In this context, in 2014, the hall was brought under the control of the Department of Hindu Charities. A case was filed in the Chennai High Court on behalf of the Shriram Samaj Foundation against this. Further, the case filed on behalf of the Shriram Samaj organization was dismissed.

In this situation, yesterday, the officials of the Hindu Temple Department tried to enter the Ayodhya hall. At the time, the Shriram Samaj Trust alleged that the Hindu Charities Department was trying to seize the hall in an emergency without following proper legal procedures.

Following this, more than 100 members of the public and spiritualists, led by Councilor Uma Anandan of the 134th Ward BJP, locked the gates of the hall yesterday morning and sat in front of it chanting Bajna songs and chanting slogans against the authorities, preventing the officers from entering the hall.

As a result, there was unrest in the area and more than 100 policemen were mobilized and deployed on security duty. Also, the Ariyaguda road was closed and traffic was banned. The authorities compromised but they refused to disperse. Following this, the officials of the Hindu Charity Department went back. Then, in the afternoon Mambalam came with the governor and broke the lock of the hall in his presence and entered inside. Councilor Uma Anandan, BJP, 134th Ward, BJP, State Secretary Karu Nagarajan and others were arrested by the police and detained at a private hall in Ashok Nagar.

Illegal!

The Department of Hindu Religious Affairs operates as a non-religious department. The High Court, in its judgment, did not say that the Treasury should seize the Bajaj Monastery. They are trying to capture the Bajaj monastery without following proper legal procedures. The appointment of an executive officer for this hall is not valid. This is not a temple; Bajaj Hall of the Foundation.
The court ruled that if there were any administrative irregularities in the Shriram Samaj Trust, it should be rectified and the Trust should be evicted within a specified period. However, in 2014, the Department of Hindu Religious Affairs seized the hall and banned it. There is currently an attempt to recapture the emergency. Attempting to seize the Bajna Mandapam is illegal.

Anti-Hindu!

Cannabis has spread among school children in Tamil Nadu. Collective sexual violence is happening. The police must take action to stop them. Apart from that, the police are acting against those who are fighting for justice. The Chief Minister is acting in an anti-Hindu mood.

Following a full order in court, appropriate action should have been taken. On the contrary, it is reprehensible for the trustees to do so without even giving notice or due time. It is wrong to think of looting a hall that works for Hindus. We consider this to be anti-Hindu tendency.
