Officers chased and caught a jeep carrying cinematic rice on the Bodimettu hill road in cinematic style.

The jeep that went without stopping

Revenue officials led by Uthamapalaiyam Flying Squadron Deputy Tashildar Kannan conducted a vehicle check near the Muneeswaran temple on the Bodimettu hill in Theni district yesterday.

Authorities then forgot the jeep that came through. But the driver did not stop the jeep and drove like a collision with the revenue officials there. The shocked officers fled to the side of the road and survived.

10 tons of ration rice

The jeep then proceeded towards Kerala at lightning speed from there. Revenue officials chased after another jeep. Knowing this, the jeep driver jumped down from the vehicle and fled. Thus the jeep overturned in the abyss.

Revenue officials then inspected the jeep which overturned in the ditch. Then it was revealed that there was 10 tons of ration rice to be smuggled to Kerala in the jeep. The Revenue Department confiscated the ration rice and the jeep and handed it over to the Uththamapalaiyam Food Smuggling Prevention Unit.

Police are also investigating the driver of the escaped jeep. It was revealed that he was Eeswaran from Kodangipatti, who was arrested and released on bail a few days ago for smuggling ration rice from Bodi to Kerala.

Webcast to the driver

Uthamapalaiyam Food Smuggling Prevention Unit police have registered a case and are searching the web for the fugitive Eeswaran. The incident in which the jeep carrying the ration rice was chased by the authorities in a cinema style caused a stir in the area.
