official: After about two years in Carmel, in which he won two championships with the team, Bogdan Palanich ended his career at Maccabi Haifa and signed with Shabab Al Ahli from the United Emirates. The Serbian brakeman landed in Dubai two days ago, ahead of his official transfer to the team from the Gulf.

Shabab will transfer 1.8 million euros to Maccabi Haifa, this after he came to the Greens for free. Now anyway he is expected to earn about 1.5 million euros per season in a 3-year contract.

Maccabi Haifa President Jacob Shahar and his deputy Uzi Mor tried to change Bogdan Palanich’s decision, but the large sums of money from the Gulf decided at the expense of qualifying for the most prestigious institution on the continent and the opportunity to play in it for the first time in his career. In Haifa they even offered Palanich to stay until the end of the season without signing a new contract and parting at the end without compensation. The Serbian’s agent ruled out this possibility.

In September 2020, Palanich landed in Israel for the first time, after signing a three-year contract with Maccabi Haifa. He made his debut in the Europa League qualifiers, about two weeks after signing his contract. In a little more than two years that he played in the green uniform, Palanich made 90 appearances, in which he scored four goals and added two assists.
