“Repsol will not renew its current sponsorship contract with Honda Racing Corporation (HRC) for the MotoGP World Championship, which ends on December 31 this year,” said a statement from Repsol.

The news was delivered after the San Marino MotoGP, Sunday.

At that time, Repsol Honda was no longer on the grid because Joan Mir and Luca Marini were sick.

The announcement marks the end of Repsol Honda’s three-decade reign in MotoGP racing.

The collaboration between Repsol and Honda has been recorded as a success in making history at the Grand Prix.
