Official passport holders of Bangladesh can visit Thailand without a visa. The Cabinet has approved a proposal to ratify an agreement for this.

This approval was given in the Cabinet meeting held at the Prime Minister’s Office on Monday (July 29). Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina presided over the meeting.

At the end of the meeting, the Cabinet Secretary in the briefing at the Secretariat. Mahbub Hossain told reporters this information. He said that official passports can travel between Bangladesh and Thailand without a visa. They can get visa on arrival there for 30 days, it has been agreed.

The Cabinet Secretary said that earlier this agreement was with 29 countries. With this we have 30 countries.

Basically, blue colored passports are called official passports. This official passport is used when an officer or employee travels outside the country for government work.

At present, officials above the rank of Secretary, Members of Parliament and Cabinet members get diplomatic passports or red passports.

Air agreement with India as per ICAO format:
The Cabinet meeting approved the draft of the Bilateral Aviation Agreement for signature between Bangladesh and India.

In this regard, the Cabinet Secretary said, we had a bilateral agreement on air traffic with India, which was done in 1978. Now the two countries have agreed that the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) has developed a new format for the agreement. According to that format the two countries have agreed to sign the agreement. Conditions are the same with freedom. The agreement sought approval only for the new format. It has been approved by the cabinet.
