Official: Ubisoft announces Assassin’s Creed Mirage

by time news

After months of leaks, lies, tension and some more lies, Ubisoft has confirmed that Assassin’s Creed Mirage is real and will reveal the title next week after the company made the announcement with a social media post that included images from the game.

The full reveal of Assassin’s Creed Mirage is going to take place at the next Ubisoft Forward event, scheduled for September 10 at 22:00 Israel time. Fans of the series will likely get a first trailer, though the release date may also be revealed, especially since one of the pre-order bonuses has already been leaked online.

The next match will probably take place in Iraq, although it is not yet known in what year. In the past it was leaked that the game would take place in Baghdad, which in the end turned out to be true. However, according to several reports and leaks, the protagonist of the game is most likely Bassim, a character who previously appeared in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, although this has not yet been confirmed.

Assuming Basim is indeed the hero of the game. Leaks indicate that he is not yet an assassin at the beginning of Mirage and instead, a thief who has come to discover the hidden, who later become the assassin order in the series. Rumors also suggest that this game is a much more backwards take on the franchise, which feels more like older games in the series rather than the massive, sprawling open-world RPGs of late.

Ubisoft also previously stated that the game planned for the 2022 holiday season has since been pushed back to 2023, and the same insiders who leaked the other information about the game said that the delayed project was indeed Assassin’s Creed Mirage. To know more we will have to wait for the coming weekend, for the Ubisoft Forward event to know more.
