/ The media coordinator of the Iraqi national team, Mohammed Imad, confirmed on Saturday that the team’s striker, Ayman Hussein, will be out of the calculations in the upcoming match against the Philippines in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

Mohammed Imad told Agency that Ayman Hussein was banned from playing against the Philippines in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers after receiving a red card in the 2023 Asian Cup.

He added that the decision to ban came according to the Asian Federation regulations, Article 38, 2, 1, explaining that the Asian Federation regulations also include a fine for our striker Ayman of $2,000 to be paid one month after receiving the red card he received in the last Iraq-Jordan match that took place within the competitions of the round of 16 of the Asian Championship currently taking place in Qatar.

The Iraq-Philippines match in the World Cup qualifiers will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2024, in the third round at Basra International Stadium in southern Iraq.
