JAKARTA – Presidential Candidate (Capres) Serial Number 3, Ganjar Pranowo feel Law Number 11 of 2008 concerning Information and Electronic Transactions (UU ITE) needs to be revised again. This was based on the fact that the revision still contained “rubber articles”.

“Oh yes (the ITE Law needs to be revised because there are rubber articles),” said Ganjar when met at the Djakarta Theater, Central Jakarta, Thursday (21/12/2023).

Apart from that, Ganjar said that criticism is not prohibited in Indonesia. However, he explained that criticism needs to be taken to ensure that it does not hurt people.

“Criticize the policy, but don’t apologize, physical, ethnic, religious, class. I think that’s a barrier that maybe people shouldn’t penetrate. But if you criticize the policy, that’s fine,” explained Ganjar.

The presidential candidate supported by the Perindo Party also admitted that he often received criticism when he was Governor of Central Java for two terms. He admitted that he often invited critics to come directly to him.

“I’ve been governor for more or less 10 years, I’ve received criticism like that. So often if they criticize, just come. We chat, we discuss. That’s much more interesting,” explained Ganjar.

However, he emphasized that officials should not get emotional and be resistant to criticism. “And officials shouldn’t get embarrassed if they are criticized,” he said.
