Offset has definitively quashed rumors of a rift with Quavo, stating they remain in regular contact despite the tragic loss of Migos groupmate Takeoff.
Offset and Quavo Maintain Family Bond
Offset chatted with Carmelo Anthony on the “7PM in Brooklyn” podcast.
Offset clarified the state of his relationship with Quavo, emphasizing their enduring family ties. “We holla at each other every other week,” he shared on the podcast, dismissing speculation. “That’s family at the end of the day. You’re gonna bump heads with your family sometimes.”
The Atlanta rap stars, once inseparable members of Migos, saw their paths diverge before Takeoff’s death in Houston in 2022. Quavo and Takeoff had released their album “Only Built For Infinity Links” as the duo Unc & Phew. Offset released his solo album “Set it Off” the following year, the same year the group officially disbanded.
Offset revealed their most recent conversation was on June 18, which would have been Takeoff’s 31st birthday. He described Takeoff as the unifying force within the group, always fostering peace and mediating disagreements.
“Buddy ain’t trying to argue. He don’t want you to do nothing. He’s just peaceful, bruh,” Offset reflected on Takeoff’s calming presence. “He still be around though. You feel him.”
Public perception of a feud intensified after a reported backstage altercation at the 2023 Grammy Awards. However, both artists demonstrated solidarity at the BET Awards later that year, performing “Bad and Boujee” as a tribute to Takeoff.
Offset detailed his upcoming third solo album, titled “Kiari,” during the candid conversation, touching on themes of grief and family dynamics.
