Offset Speaks Out Against Cardi B Fans Referencing Takeoff’s Death Amid Breakup

Offset, the rapper and former member of Migos, has spoken out against internet users referencing the death of Takeoff, his cousin and former Migos member, amid his breakup with Cardi B.

The 32-year-old took to X (formerly known as Twitter) on Saturday to address the issue, expressing his frustration with fans mentioning Takeoff, who was fatally shot in Houston in November 2022.

“Fan wishing death on takeoff is crazy yal lil ass better chill,” Offset wrote in one post. In a second post, he added: “Correction: Fans using Takeoff’s name in the middle of all this isn’t cool. I’m still grieving my brother, and would like for his name to not be brought up.”

Offset’s posts come in response to Cardi B’s emotional Instagram Live video on Friday, where she discussed her and Offset’s breakup. The former couple, who share two children, Kulture and Wave, met in 2017 and married the same year, with their relationship making headlines due to ups and downs, previous breakups, and cheating accusations.

In the video, Cardi B claimed that Offset “really likes to play games with me at my most vulnerable time. When I’m not the most confident.” She also announced that she and Offset had separated on December 11 during a previous Instagram Live, expressing her excitement for a new beginning in 2024.

Amid the publicized split, Offset’s plea for fans to refrain from using Takeoff’s name during the breakup turmoil sheds light on the rapper’s personal grief and struggles during this difficult time.

The public nature of celebrity relationships often leads to increased scrutiny and emotional turmoil, and both Offset and Cardi B continue to navigate the complexities of their breakup while maintaining a level of respect and privacy for themselves and their family.
