Ogwind raises NIS 60 million from Funder

The share of Augwind (TASE 🙂 today rises on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange by 3.5% after private and institutional investors from the United States and Israel purchased shares of the company in off-exchange transactions, amounting to NIS 60 million.

Maugwind said they see the acquisition as an expression of confidence in its technology and the international strategy it leads.

Ogwind, which was one of the fastest and most talked about stocks on the stock exchange in 2020 when it rose by 1,047%, has lost about half a campaign since the beginning of the year and has fallen by 49%. The company’s market value today stands at NIS 1.05 billion

One of the buyers from the United States is Leon Wagner, chairman and founder of the GoldenTree Asset Management investment fund, which manages about $ 46 billion on behalf of pension funds, philanthropic funds and government funds.

Another acquirer from the U.S. is Hillel Weinberger, co-founder and founder of HillMark Capital Management. Weinberger served for two decades as a senior consultant to his conglomerate Loews and has activities in a variety of areas such as real estate, insurance, diamonds and financial investments.

In 2020, Loews’ revenue was about $ 12 billion. Among the notable investments of Mr. Weinberger is Sirius / XM Satellite Radio, which was a pioneer in the field of satellite-based broadcasting.

Among the buyers from Israel: Meitav Dash Gamel, another provident fund that purchased another NIS 4.5 million, businessman Ran Blinks who increased his holdings in the company and several other private investors from the leading families in the Israeli economy, who asked to remain anonymous.

These acquisitions come after the company has made some significant moves in recent weeks:

About a week ago, Ogwind announced that the IEC had entered into an agreement with it in principle to establish a storage system in the AirBattery technology, amounting to about 40 megawatts per hour. The storage system will be set up at a power station sub-station and Ogwind will also provide operation and maintenance services for a period of about 20 years.
