OIC: Bayt Mal Al-Qods Acharif Agency presents its achievements in Yaoundé

Yaoundé – The Bayt Mal Al-Qods Acharif Agency under the Al Qods Committee, chaired by HM King Mohammed VI, presented in Yaoundé its achievements during the 50th session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

The participation of the Agency, represented by the Director in charge of management, Mohamed Salem Echarkaoui, was an opportunity to highlight the efforts of the Al-Quds Committee and the results of its achievements in the service of the Palestinian population. On this occasion, the Agency made available to the various delegations participating in this session a report on the results of its achievements for the period between the 49th session held in Nouakchott and the current session. The report reviews the most important programs and projects that the Agency continues to implement in Al-Quds, within the framework of its prerogatives to fulfill its social and humanitarian role and its appreciated contribution to supporting institutions in Al-Quds in various social fields. The Agency has approved, since the beginning of the year, a set of social support projects in the field of reconstruction, including the local restoration program which concerns more than 100 properties in the old city and some neighborhoods of Al-Quds. The Agency’s action plan for this year also includes the launch of its 2024-2027 digital strategy, focusing on five areas, namely, the Palestinian youth project incubator in the field of innovation, the Maison du Maroc platform for the preservation and documentation of the tangible and intangible heritage of Al Quds, the social and solidarity trade platform (Dalala) as well as the distance education platform with Al Quds University, and gaming and entertainment applications (Haya), intended for children and adolescents. In addition, the Agency continues to implement its programs in the areas of social assistance for the benefit of needy categories and people with disabilities, with human development projects, cultural and social promotion, as well as programs for youth and childhood. According to the report, the period between the two sessions marked by the continuation of the dramas that followed the events of October 7, 2023 was characterized in particular by the High Royal Instructions to provide aid to the Palestinians, as well as the success of the Kingdom of Morocco in delivering this food aid, by land, intended for the Palestinian population of Gaza and the Holy City of Al-Quds. Thanks to the direct supervision by the Sovereign of the Agency’s action, this institution is driven by a strong desire to continue working in the service of Al-Quds, in order to preserve the legal status and the civilizational, historical and religious identity of the Holy City.
