Islamabad: Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), a group of Islamic countries, has once again spewed venom against India. OIC, working at the behest of Pakistan, has made strong statements regarding Kashmir. OIC has reportedly formed a contact group on Kashmir. This contact group has now raised the slogan of the right to self-determination of the Kashmiri people. The OIC Contact Group also claimed to reaffirm its support for their “legitimate” struggle. The big thing is that the same OIC Contact Group has rejected India’s statements on Pakistan Occupied Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan as inappropriate.

The OIC issued a joint communique after a separate meeting on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly meeting in New York. In this, a lot of venom was spewed regarding the assembly elections being held in Kashmir and the parliamentary elections that have already taken place. “Parliamentary elections or Legislative Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir cannot serve as a substitute for granting the right to self-determination to the Kashmiri people,” the OIC joint statement said. It stressed that “lasting peace and stability in South Asia depends on the final resolution of the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the United Nations Security Council resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.”
