Al Waha Oil Company announced the resumption of crude oil pumping operations through the main crude oil pipeline “Zaqout-Sidra”, after extinguishing the fire that broke out in the pipeline last Monday.

The company stated in a brief statement that all maintenance work, pipe replacement, and necessary tests were completed to ensure the safety of pumping operations through the pipeline from the fields to the Sidra port.

The company expected production rates to return to normal within the coming hours, according to its statement.

The National Oil Corporation announced that firefighting teams were able to extinguish a fire that broke out on Monday evening in the “Zaqout-Sidra” oil pipeline belonging to the “Waha” company.

Reuters reported yesterday, citing a source in the Waha Oil Company, that the company’s production had decreased by about 115,000 barrels per day due to maintenance work on the pipeline that pumps oil from the Waha field to the Sidra port.

It is noteworthy that Al Waha Company is a joint oil company between the National Oil Corporation, the American company “ConocoPhillips” and the French company “Total”, and is the second largest company operating in the field of oil exploration in Libya.
