The current dirndl trends
►Clearly: traditional costume fashion has become more reserved overall and is fully committed to the natural trend.
You’ll wear all of that in 2022 Not: Loud contrasts, loud squeaky colors, lavish decorations, short skirts.
Instead, less is now more. So décolletés are emphasized by transparent but high-necked blouses. It looks super classy and yet sexy.
The colors are also soft this year: a bit smoky, often even pastel. For example light blue, mint green, lime green, lilac or pink, all in combinations.
When it comes to materials, new Dirndls rely more than ever on natural materials such as cotton, cotton tulle, lots of lace and traditional blue print.
The trendy, longer skirt also goes well with this. It must be at least knee-length, preferably ankle-length.
Tip for everyone who would like to wear their actually beautiful but unfortunately too short dirndl again: A new, longer petticoat that matches the dirndl creates the new silhouette without much effort.
Or: simply sew a tip onto the existing skirt.
► You can refresh an older dirndl with a new apron. It must be three centimeters shorter than the skirt.
As is well known, important for flirting at the Oktoberfest is the apron loop: Tied on the right means “married”, on the left stands for “single” and if you wear it in the middle, you signal “I’m open to everything”.

What goes with the dirndl
If it gets a bit chilly while partying: A tight-fitting traditional cardigan or a boiled wool jacket warms the dirndl wearer and looks stylish. Important: Look out for beautiful buttons made of decorated metal or sturdy staghorn.
If you don’t want to wear bare legs with a dirndl: white or colored stockings and tights with a knitted hole pattern are also nice.
Your feet should be comfortable with a dirnd, but not too sporty. Don’t wear sports shoes or sneakers. Ballerinas, pumps, ankle boots or booties are nicer.
When it comes to jewelry, too, restraint is the order of the day. Either necklace or earrings – both would be too much this year.

Leather pants for women
Are you more of a pants type?
►Then the classic traditional lederhosen are a bit shorter or Bermuda or knee-length, still a real alternative to the swinging dirndl skirt. In addition, a tight bottom in leather and beautiful legs are of course also a sexy eye-catcher at the Oktoberfest.
The crisp version of the traditional lederhosen for sporty girls
The trend in 2022 are light, skin-colored leather pants made of rough natural leather such as nubuck.
Tip: worn with natural-colored pumps or sandals, they make endless legs.
A tight bodice with a lace blouse or a somewhat more sporty traditional blouse with a cardigan go well with this.
By the way: With the sporty, robust version of the traditional lederhosen outfit, wool socks and boots are of course also allowed.
Danger! When buying, pay attention to a tight fit, because the leather pants widen when worn on the buttocks.
