The CEO of the company Pavish Agarwal has said that the Ola company is going to launch an electric sports car soon.

Ola CEO Bhavesh Aggarwal said in a comment posted on Twitter, “We are making a battery sports car like no other in India.”

Bhavesh Agarwal, who recently stepped away from the day-to-day operations of Ola, is interested in engineering operations, team building, manufacturing and long-term projects such as manufacturing two-wheelers in multiple variants.

Bhavesh Aggarwal has started Ola’s technology center in Pune and research institute in UK.

In an interview at a recent event, Bhavesh Aggarwal said, “We will be launching more two-wheelers from us in the next 2 years. We plan to introduce new models in the scooter segment, motorcycles, sedans and SUVs.

By 2022 we will introduce new scooters and sport bikes. We plan to introduce premium SUVs and premium sedans by 2024.

Ola has so far invested $10 crore in research and development of battery technology. We currently employ about 200 researchers and plan to hire 500 Ph.D.

We are planning to set up technical headquarters in Bengaluru and research centers in Pune, Japan, San Francisco and UK.

Currently we spend $150 to make a kilowatt battery cell. We are going to reduce this to $100. “In the next few months, the cost of vehicle production will come down by up to 20 percent,” he said.

Meanwhile, Ola on Saturday also announced plans for the S1 scooters developed by Ola to be upgraded with MoveOS3 software technology. MoveOS 3 will be launched by the upcoming Diwali festival.
