Despite the absences (Nebo, Bolmaro and Flaccadori out), Olimpia Milano won their first win of the season in the Euroleague. Ettore Messina’s team won the Paris Basketball 79-74. A fair game until the end at the Unipol Forum in Assago, with Shields who is the decisive man with a well 21 points scored. In Paris, an excellent performance by Clippings of TJ which the game ends with 17 points.

The story of the game
The first quarter is very balanced: there is a lot of play with Paris which proves to be very dangerous on the counter. Olimpia Milano is at home Dimitrijevic who immediately tries to draw his team as well as two triples and 10 points scored. In Paris, however, it clearly is TJ Short stories confirming expectations with his baskets on the left. Olimpia takes the lead midway through the first quarter 17-12, forcing coach Splitter at time-out. A wise choice by the coach of Paris who, thanks to triple Hifi, manages to be in front -1 (19-18). From the line (1/2) it is Bortolani who allows Olimpia to close first quarter leading 20-18. In the second quarter Paris starts again immediately with 1/2 from the line by Ward for the new one -1 (20-19). The game remains very lively at all times, with many restarts on both sides. Paris has not scored a pair (7/16) and Olimpia tries to take advantage of it. The main character is LeDay, already the author of an excellent game against Monaco last week, who first scored the two-point basket, then the triple for the 32-26 which brings Paris to a timeout with 4′ left in the quarter. From here, however, there is only a new entry of the new Euroleague season on the field. Malcom punishes first with penetration, then with the triple that is worth part of 5-0 and -2 (33-31). Milan works too hard in attack, and here comes Hifi’s 3-point basket to give the visiting team the lead. We go into halftime with Paris leading 39-35.
In the third quarter Clippings of TJ he shows first with his classic left-handed penetration (two hits to be exact), then from the don line 47-40. For the hosts, however, Shields becomes the real driving force by scoring 7 points for -4 (48-52). The 30-year-old tries again to penetrate, misses the shot but Diop has a correction for 52-55 enriched on the line, right by Shields, for -1 in Milan. He will complete the comeback for the Messina team Tonut’s floater gives his team a 58-57 lead at the end of the third quarter. In the last quarter, however, Paris started strongly and took the lead 5 points (63-58) again thanks to TJ Shots (author of two pointers and triple). Messina’s free time was inevitable. Milan needs the shock that comes, once again, from Shields who puts Olimpia back on track with the triple to make it 69-71 with 4′ to go. With 2′ to go, Messina’s team manage to get it back from the line Ricci (73-73) and then cancel it with LeDay for 75-73. To close the accounts, as it should be, Shields himself, with Olimpia beating Paris 79-74.
