Olívia Santana calls on the government to speed up the installation of cameras on police uniforms after an episode of “violent approach”
Hours after reporting that she was the victim of a violent approach by military police, state deputy Olívia Santana (PCdoB) sent an official statement to the State government demanding speed in the installation of cameras on the troops’ uniforms.
“There are no facial recognition cameras, why not put the cameras on the uniform?”, said Olívia to this Free Politics this Thursday (2).
The letter was forwarded to the Public Security Secretariat, the general command of the Military Police and to Governor Jerônimo Rodrigues (PT) himself on Wednesday (1st), when the deputy and her team said they had been approached in a hostile manner by military police officers. as they passed through the Vale das Pedrinhas neighborhood.
“Let it be clear, I am not against blitzes, but it is necessary to see the form of the approach. Why so many curses, why so many swear words? I’m not better or worse than anyone else, but what I want is respect for all citizens,” he said.
Olívia also countered the attacks she has been receiving since bringing the case to light and said that the video circulating on social media only shows an excerpt of the approach.
“In São Paulo, cameras helped reduce lethality among both civilians and police officers. It is a type of technology at the service of life and also helps to eliminate this war of versions”, argued the deputy.
“There are people who want to criticize me as if I were against the corporation. That’s not true,” added Olívia, stating that he requested an audience with the Secretary of State Public Security, Marcelo Werner.
