Olympiacos stepped on the gas in the last period and reached the victory against Karditsa in SEF with 85-73, in a match for the 21st game of the Basket League.
This was the 19th victory of the “red and whites” who climbed to the top of the standings, one point ahead of Panathinaikos who compete tomorrow (17/3) with PAOK.
Olympiacos lined up without Tomas Walkup and Naz Mitrou-Long who got a breather.
Karditsa fought it, was combative in the first two quarters and managed to close the half in front of the score with 41-39.
The “red and white” turned up the pace in the third and fourth quarters and managed to lead by a double-digit number of points (70-60). Karditsa could not follow the rhythm and the Piraeus reached the victory with the final 85-73.
The first scorer of the winners was Michalis Lountzis with 16 points (3/5 three-pointers), while Giannoulis Larentzakis added 14 points (3/4 three-pointers). From there, Isaiah Caanan and Moses Wright scored 11 points each. For Karditsa, San Buchanan had 18 points, while Romelo White had 13 points and 9 rebounds and Giorgos Kamberidis had 11 points.
