Olympians Krīgers and Stūriška / will also compete in the Latvian BMX Championship

On July 6, the Latvian championship will take place for the first time on the district Kadaga track.

National champions in a total of 25 age and skill groups will be determined in this competition. The official opening of the competition is expected at 11 a.m., the first races will start at 11:20 a.m., but the decisive fight for prizes will begin after 1 p.m.

All leading domestic BMX riders will compete in the competition. Among them is Kristens Kriegers, who has qualified for the Paris Olympic Games, for whom Mikus Dāvis Strazdiņš and Rinald Jānis Kārkliņš will show the fiercest competition in the elite. Kruger has just returned from Paris, where he drove the Olympic track.

For the ladies, the main intrigue will be the duel between the world U-23 champion Veronika Monika Stūriška, who has qualified for the Uniolympic Games, as well as the elite Latvian champion of the last year, Vineta Pētersons.

In the U-23 men’s competition, an especially intense duel promises to be between Kārli Pedraudzis and last year’s champion Mārtis Emil Treimani. In the juniors, meanwhile, the main favorites will be European Cup leader Edgars Langmanis, as well as his club member “BMX Rīga”/RRS representative Kristers Apels.

On Sunday, the Ādažu County Cup competition will take place on the Kadaga track.
