While Paris has obtained the organization of the 2024 Olympic Games, we invite you to discover the sites that will host the events.
The Marseille city was chosen to organize the sailing events. “European Capital of Sport” in 2017, Marseille stood out for the configuration of its marina, on the Roucas nautical base, which can accommodate a large number of spectators, its climatic conditions and its low tides.
An Olympic sport since 1900, sailing is nevertheless one of the least followed sports at the Games. In Rio, eight different events, including windsurfing, were organized.
- The spectator capacity
The organization provides 5,600 seats in the stands and 10,000 standing places, in particular on the Corniche de Marseille.
- State of the equipment: built, facilities planned
The site must be the subject of work to adapt it to the Olympic configuration. After the Games, the site will return to the public and to the national training center of the French sailing team.
