Muscat: The third round of political talks between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Oman and the European Union (EU) European External Action Service (EEAS) took place in Muscat yesterday.

Sheikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Harti, Under Secretary of State for Diplomacy, led the Omani party, while Enrique Mora, Deputy Secretary – General and Political Director of the EES, was on the other side.

Bilateral relations between the Sultanate and the European Union and ways to meet the common interests of both sides and to develop them were discussed.

They also discussed procedures for waiving Schengen visas for Omani citizens. The Schengen area is a region comprising 26 European countries. Views were also exchanged on local and international issues of general concern.
