Muscat: Oman ranks 12th in the list of foreigner-friendly countries. In the ‘Expat Insider Survey’ conducted by Internations, the world’s largest expatriate group, Oman won the award. 11,970 expatriates from 177 countries living in 181 countries participated in the survey. The survey was conducted based on factors such as quality of life, ease of finding work and employment conditions.
Mexico, Indonesia, Taiwan, Portugal, Spain, UAE, Vietnam, Thailand, Australia and Singapore made the top 10 in the list. At the bottom are Kuwait, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Cyprus, Luxembourg, Japan, South Africa, Turkey, Italy and Malta.
According to the survey, 72 percent of foreigners living in Oman are happy with their quality of life in the country. Those who participated in the survey testified that housing can be found here at a low cost. Oman therefore ranks fifth in the report’s ‘Ease of Settling’ sub-category. According to the report, Oman has a friendly and welcoming culture. Oman ranks 10th in this sub-category.
