The president of the Consumer Ombudsman, Ricardo Salazar, reported that more than 149,000 inspections have been carried out throughout the food supply chain in Salvadoran territory.

“More than 149,000 inspections we have carried out throughout the food supply chain,” said President Salazar.

According to the head of the institution of these inspections, a total of 116 cases have been presented to the Sanctioning Court for unjustified price increase and obstruction of the Ombudsman’s work.

“50 cases have been sanctioned, which exceed $152,000. It has been possible to cushion the effect of a crisis, which we have been experiencing since last year, of high production costs,” said the official.
