Ombudsman withdraws close to 60 thousand expired products in 4 years

With the objective of safeguarding the health of Salvadorans, the President of the Consumer Advocacy Office, Ricardo Salazar, reported that a total of more than 59,943 expired products have been withdrawn in four years.

“In these four years, we have withdrawn more than 59,943 expired products. This is important because breaching these provisions violates the right of the consumer. I mean the right to information, to health,” said the head of the Ombudsman.

The official of the institution indicated that in terms of inspection, more than 8,250 verifications have been carried out and of which more than 6,000 products have been found with findings of non-compliance.

“Regarding the inspection of the technical regulations that we are carrying out, we have made more than 8,250 verifications and we have found more than 6,000 products with findings of non-compliance,” said Salazar.
