Thiruvananthapuram: Omicron in 44 more states (OmicronHealth Minister Veena GeorgeVeena George). With this, the number of Omicron confirmed people in the state has crossed 100. A total of 107 omicron variants were confirmed. Omicon has been confirmed for Ernakulam 12, Kollam 10, Thiruvananthapuram 8, Thrissur 4, Kottayam, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kannur 2 each, Alappuzha and Idukki 1 each.

Of the 44 confirmed cases, 10 were from high-risk countries and 27 from low-risk countries. Seven people were infected through contact. Kollam 4, Kottayam 2 and Thiruvananthapuram 1 were affected by the contact.

In Ernakulam, 4 came from the UAE, 3 from the UK, 2 from Qatar and one each from South Africa, Israel and Malta. In Kollam, 5 people are from UAE and one is from East Africa. In Thiruvananthapuram, 6 people are from UAE and one is from Qatar. In Thrissur, 3 people came from UAE and one from UK.

The disease has been confirmed in Palakkad in Nigeria and UAE, in Malappuram in the UK and Spain, in Kannur in Sweden and UAE, in Alappuzha in Italy and in Idukki in Sweden.

A total of 41 came from high-risk countries and 52 from low-risk countries. A total of 14 people were diagnosed with the disease through contact. Those from the UAE were the most confirmed Omicron. 29 were from the UAE. All 23 people from the UK were affected by Omicron.

Omicon was confirmed in Ernakulam 37, Thiruvananthapuram 26, Kollam 11, Thrissur 9, Pathanamthitta 5, Alappuzha 5, Kannur 4, Kottayam 3, Malappuram 3, Palakkad 2, Kozhikode 1 and Idukki 1 districts.
