In the shadow of the rise in morbidity and the new corona waves plaguing many countries, Prime Minister Naftali Bennett last night (Monday) held a consultation with senior Ministry of Health officials on the State of Israel’s deal with the Omicron strain.

During the conversation, various options for tightening the various restrictions were discussed as part of preventing the spread of the corona, including restricting the gathering, expanding the green mark and also applying it to the trade industries, stopping funding for antigen tests for children, and more.

At the end of the discussion, which lasted four hours, no decisions were made, but there was broad agreement to apply further restrictions.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office, further consultations and follow-up discussions will be held tomorrow, with the aim of formulating the continuation of the action plan for the treatment of Omicron. Once a comprehensive outline has been formulated, the Ministerial Committee on Corona Affairs will convene to discuss its details.
