The Southampton-Brentford, Watford-Crystal Palace, West Ham United-Norwich City and Everton-Leicester matches scheduled for this weekend have also been postponed. That would bring to nine the number of matches that will be postponed this month under the Kovid threat.
The United and Chelsea Everton matches were played at Liverpool Newcastle at midnight on Thursday, Indian time, but some players did not return to action due to Kovid’s illness. Liverpool’s Fabinho, Curtis Jones and Virgin Van Dyck were all ruled out of the match.

Chelsea will be without home players Romelu Lukaku, Timo Werner and Callum Hudson Odoi. From December 6 to 16, Kovid is estimated to have more than 50 players and staff at 20 clubs in the Premier League.
Kovid has also been linked with a move to Spanish La Liga giants Real Madrid, following in the footsteps of the English Premier League. That’s when Real Madrid reported five new cases on Thursday. Wednesday’s test revealed that Real stars Luka Modric and Marcelo were Kovid positive. Kovid had previously reported to Marco Asensio, Gareth Bale, Andre Lunin, Rodrigo and First Assistant Manager.
