Thiruvananthapuram: Health Minister Veena George has said that Omikron has been confirmed for 5 more people in the state. This brings the total number of cases in the state to 29.

Omikron confirmed today that 4 people arrived at the Ernakulam airport and one from Kozhikode. They came to the state from the UK, Albania and Nigeria.

A total of 29 people in the state have so far been confirmed by Omicron. Of these, 17 are from high risk countries and 10 are from low risk countries. Omicron was infected through contact with two people.

Meanwhile, the number of Omicron victims in the country is on the rise. In Tamil Nadu, 33 people have been diagnosed with the disease in the last 24 hours. This brings the number of Omicron cases in Tamil Nadu to 34.
