Michael Ryan: “We think vaccines are effective against this variant”

“There is no indication that the Omicron variant causes more severe forms of Covid-19. There is no indication that current vaccines protect against the Omicron variant.” This was declared by the World Health Organization (WHO) through the mouth of its emergency manager, Michael Ryan. “We have very effective vaccines that have proven their power against all variants that have appeared so far in terms of disease severity and hospitalizations and there is no reason to think that it is not the same in this case” with respect to the Omicron variant.
