New Delhi: States are gearing up to tighten controls on the rising number of Omicron victims in various states. The high-level meeting, chaired by the Prime Minister, is expected to take important decisions.

Earlier it was warned that the omicron was three times more diffuse than the Covid Delta variant. With the total number of Omicron victims in the country exceeding 300, the states are preparing to tighten controls. The AIIMS chief had warned them to be prepared for any situation.

In Kerala, the Omicron variant was confirmed for five more people today. This brings the total number of Omicron victims in the state to 29. Omikron has confirmed seven cases in Gujarat and 12 in Karnataka today. The number of patients is rising again in many states, which were relieved that covid cases were declining. At the same time, the number of Omikron victims is increasing.

The high-level meeting convened by the Prime Minister to assess the Kovid situation in the country in the wake of the rising Omikron cases is likely to take important decisions. The Center had earlier directed the states to equip them with war rooms. It is also recommended to speed up vaccination. The Center has also directed to expedite vaccinations in the states where assembly elections are scheduled for next year.

In Maharashtra, where Kovid 19 was most affected, 1179 people were diagnosed with the disease on Thursday alone. Of these, 23 were found to be omicron. Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has called an urgent meeting of the state government at 10 pm on Thursday.

In Madhya Pradesh, night curfew was imposed as part of the Kovid defense. The curfew is from 11 pm to 5 am. However, Omicron has not yet been confirmed in the state.

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has said that preparations are underway for a sharp rise in the number of Kovid patients in Delhi. He said he was ready to deal with one lakh patients a day. He said Delhi was ready to conduct three lakh inspections daily.
