Thiruvananthapuram: Health Minister Veena George has said that the samples of eight people sent for omicron genetic testing from the state are negative. Kozhikode (two), Malappuram (two), Ernakulam (two), Thiruvananthapuram (one) and Pathanamthitta (one) were negative.
So far, eight of the 10 samples sent for the Omicron genetic test have tested negative. The result of two more is yet to come. Omicron genetic testing samples are sent to people from high-risk countries who are RTPCR positive. Omicron is conducting genetic testing in the lab of the Rajiv Gandhi Center for Biotechnology.
Kovid was positive for another person who arrived at Kozhikode Airport from a high risk country. His samples have been sent to Omicon for genetic testing. The minister said that although the initial results were negative, there should be no lack of vigilance.
