Last week, the municipal society launched the brochure of classes and activities for the year 2018 – with a digital, accessible and efficient brochure. Registration for the children’s and youth classes for the coming year is already underway, and for those who are undecided, now is the time to decide which classes to enroll the children in. The municipal society in Rehovot presents a wide and comprehensive range of classes for all A girl and a boy, which will provide an essential and enjoyable informal activity, all at the click of a button in the new digital brochure, where you can also find classes for adults.
As every year, the municipal society in Rehovot works hard to allow the children of the city to enjoy a wide variety of classes: from the taekwondo class, through art classes such as ceramics, miniatures or painting and sculpture with special materials to the various music and dance classes. Also this year, state-of-the-art classes for the well-being of children and youth have been added to the impressive offer basket, all at the click of a button on the digital activity brochure that can be registered online.
As part of the various sports clubs, there is a wide variety of sports, including: basketball, soccer, handball, swimming, table tennis, artistic gymnastics, shooting club, parkour, archery and more, and many martial arts classes: wrestling, judo, taekwondo , O-shu (kung fu), boxing, fencing and more. The various sports clubs in Rehovot are among the leaders in Israel and have a leading name in their field.
In the field of performing arts, we find the youth stage – the largest platform for education and training of children and youth in the fields of: drama, singer, dance and unique workshops. The trainees acquire basic concepts and working principles in artistic and theatrical settings, develop their creativity, imagination and improvisation skills and participate in various community shows and events in the city of Rehovot and beyond. Dance lovers are invited to take a light step and join the ranks of the “Hadari Rehovot” dance troupes – starting from pre-ballet (age 4) to matriculation and joining the troupes, where they will learn the basics of dance and dancing along with developing physical, mental, social, artistic and stage skills. As part of the bands, they will learn folk dance, modern, jazz, hip-hop and classical ballet.

At the Artists’ House located on Carmel Street in Rehovot, there is an outstanding program for children. As part of the program, there will be workshops with guest designers and artists, tours of museums and galleries, an end-of-year exhibition and more. The outstanding program offers two tracks: a visual arts track that includes sculpture/painting/drawing, photography, printmaking and more (for students in grades 3 to 10), and a design track – product design/textile design/animation and work with special materials (for students in grades 5 to 11 ) Along with the outstanding program, there will be art classes for children including – drawing and sculpting with special materials, drawing for children and drawing and painting for teenagers, and classes for adults – intuitive drawing, drawing from nature and more.
In the Center for Visual Arts, which is located in the city center, in the Smilansky Cultural Center – in addition to printing workshops and professional photography courses, there is an online sculpture class that includes designing iron sheets into works of art as well as a series of smartphone photography sessions.

Beit Michal, the small and intimate cultural center for artistic and high-quality work, which combines a rich and diverse children’s and youth library, an art gallery and a space for meetings, also offers classes and workshops for children in the fields of painting, poetry, writing and singing, workshops will also be added for junior high and high school-aged youth: creative and narrative writing, workshops Writing and performance and spoken word poetry.
In the world of music, whose home is the Municipal Conservatory of Music in Rehovot, there are a large number of study tracks for children, in a variety of musical instruments, among them, keyboard instruments (piano or organ), bowed instruments, wind instruments, frittatas, percussion instruments and a vocal department. Alongside these we even find rhythm music for preschoolers – a fun and enriching activity for children from the age of 4 – exposure to the basics of music and preparation for further studies on musical instruments.
