The 72-hour visit of the World Bank’s Vice President for West and Central Africa, Ousmane Diagana, continues in Conakry. This Monday, July 17, 2023, accompanied by a large delegation in charge of the Guinea file at the World Bank, in particular the new Country Representative, Issa Diaw, and the new Director of Operations for Guinea, he had several high-level meetings with the Guinean authorities, in particular with the Prime Minister, Head of Government, Dr. Bernard Goumou, the Minister of Economy and Finance, Moussa Cissé, and several other members of the government, as well as with the executives of the sectoral departments of the Economic and financial pool.
After a tête-à-tête in the morning with the Minister of Economy and Finance, Moussa Cissé, followed by a working meeting with the executives of the said department, Ousmane Diagana met with the Prime Minister, Head of Government, Dr. Bernard Goumou, and the Minister of Finance at the Palais de la Colombe. This high-level meeting was followed by a joint technical working meeting with executives from sector departments and those from the World Bank.
Monday’s marathon day continued with a technical meeting extended to several sectoral departments. Ousmane Diagana had the opportunity to speak during a joint technical meeting with several ministers from sectoral departments, including Finance, Budget, Mines, Energy, Planning, Telecommunications, Agriculture, Education, Health, etc.
These technical exchanges should make it possible to define Guinea’s strategic priorities in terms of financing, as well as the facilities that the World Bank could provide to support its program with Guinea.
