The third edition of the Capri International Festival ‘Il Canto delle Sirene’ returns, under the artistic direction of Geppy Gleijeses, which will take place from 13 to 24 September, with a program characterized by contaminations between genres such as theatre, music, photography and cinema.

To open the Festival on Wednesday 13 September, at 6.30 pm, in the arches of the Small Cloister of the Certosa di San Giacomo di Capri, the photographic exhibition dedicated to Franco Zeffirelli on the occasion of the centenary of the director’s birth: “The stars of Zeffirelli” in collaboration with the Zeffirelli Foundation. The exhibition offers a selection of iconic photographs from the Zeffirelli Archive which portray some of the most famous Italian and international stars with whom the director worked during his artistic career in cinema, prose theater and musical opera.

The homage to the great director continues on 13 September at 20.00 in the Chiostro Piccolo Certosa di San Giacomo di Capri with the screening of “Franco Zeffirelli, conformist rebel”, directed by Anselma Dell’Olio. Guest of honor of the evening was Robert Powell, who played Jesus in the homonymous drama directed by Zeffirelli for Rai.

With zero environmental impact, without any acoustic support and battery-powered, Fiorenza Calogero and Mario Maglione will perform three concerts of half an hour each, located in the natural cave of the Cave. The lucky spectators, four for each of the twenty boats of the Capri ferrymen, will enjoy the Neapolitan melodies from the small boats in the wonder of the “Grotta”.

To honor his memory, “Fratelli d’Italia” is a show that wants to mix and bring back all the genres that Arbasino in turn mixed with irony. From “rap” to musical, from poetry to song, from novel to civil essay, Michele Masneri, writer and essayist, will guide you on a journey to discover Arbasino, through the readings entrusted to Iaia Forte and Tommaso Ragno.
