More than 250 will be the affected properties on Coral beach alone, after the parliament passed a ban on construction in a 500-meter strip of three beaches – “Irakli”, “Karadere” and “Coral”. This was stated by MP Miroslava Petrova from “We continue the change” to NOVA. However, the owners of these properties will be compensated.

Petrova gave more details about the law. “This has been a public cause for many years. Four political parties are importers. In 2023, with a very strong political will, we managed to prevent future construction in a 500-meter area of the three beaches for nature-friendly tourism,” said Petrova.

According to her, not only these beaches deserve such a status, but this is the first step. “It will not be possible to put up fences in these 500 meters in the future. And those that are already there must be removed within 3 months,” explained the deputy. “It is a success for the entire Black Sea coast that we gave a high protection status to the dunes. Until now, they were only in the Protected Areas Act,” explained Petrova.

“All over the Black Sea, beach cleaning machines – earthmoving, self-propelled excavators, tractors, which are also used for the daily activities of the concessionaires, will not be able to enter without a permit regime,” said Petrova. This regime will be given by the municipalities. You will have to choose which machine to enter with, having previously agreed on the approach,” she clarified.

“The small revolution is the regulation on the movable objects on the sea beaches for the entire Black Sea coast. MRRD, Ministry of Tourism and the Ministry of Tourism have a commitment by the end of the year to issue such an ordinance, which will very clearly regulate the type, character, color, including where on the beach strip movable objects can be located,” said Petrova.

With regard to the already signed long-term contracts of movable objects – for them, the new rules will enter into force after the expiration of their current contracts.

The law enters into force 3 days after it is voted in the plenary hall. After that, building permits cannot be issued. “The law does not apply to already existing construction,” explained Petrova. It will not affect campsites.
