The Ministry of Regional Development and Agriculture has proposed starting next year on county bus lines with a ticket price of 1.50 euros and a monthly ticket price of 20 euros, BNS reports.

The ministry’s public transport department proposes, as an option, to approve the price of one ticket at 1.50 euros for a ticket purchased electronically, that is, when the ticket is used through a travel card on which money has been credited to purchase the ticket. If the ticket is purchased on the bus with cash, the ticket price will be 2 euros.

“Both tickets are valid for 1.5 hours, that is, when transferring to a bus of another county line, you do not need to buy a second ticket within 1 hour 30 minutes after purchasing the first ticket,” the Ministry of Regional Development and Agriculture said in a letter sent out to counties and public transport centers.

In order to increase convenience, the Ministry proposes to introduce monthly tickets, that is, 30-day tickets, the price of which will be 20 euros; they will be valid on all county lines, except for MTÜ Põhja-Eesti Ühistranspordikeskus buses and long-distance lines, which are currently paid.

The Ministry of Regional Development and Agriculture is waiting for proposals to approve ticket prices until October 2. In counties where there are currently no paid county bus lines, the ministry asks that preparatory work for the transition to paid service begin on January 1.
