On Friday, February 3, there will be a concert by the Wind Orchestra of the Rehovot Philharmonic at the Rehovot Cultural Hall

Working for them all year round: on the occasion of International Holocaust Day, the municipality of Rehovot publishes all the activities for Holocaust survivors in the city.

On the occasion of International Holocaust Day, which falls tomorrow, January 27, the Municipality of Rehovot publishes the various projects that operate throughout the year for the benefit of Holocaust survivors, on behalf of the Department for the Welfare of Senior Citizens in the Social Services Division of the Municipality of Rehovot:

• Nachat’s Friday morning club – which takes place every Friday morning and includes a social gathering, an exercise class, a lecture, a meal and a musical performance for Saturday.

• A club for Russian-speaking Holocaust survivors – which includes a social gathering, gymnastics and a music performance or lecture.

• “Together” project – regular meetings with individual Holocaust survivors for the purpose of alleviating loneliness with a combination of volunteers, pupils and students.

• Birthday celebrations for individual Holocaust survivors – in collaboration with the Amit Amichai high school yeshiva.

• Unifer project “Connecting to life” – a digital social club from home

• Events and days of respite throughout the year – near the Israeli holidays.

• Psychosocial treatment – for Holocaust survivors who face crises and request individual treatment.

• A community that supports Holocaust survivors – at a cost of NIS 25 (through the Aleah association).

Those interested in joining one of the programs are invited to contact the Merav Meissner office, which coordinates the treatment of Holocaust survivors in the Rehovot municipality 08-9392175.

Attorney Meisner even represented the municipality of Rehovot with honor when she was chosen to present her activities on behalf of the Holocaust survivors in the city today, at the main ceremony of the Ministry of Welfare and Social Security to mark International Holocaust Day which was broadcast live.

The mayor, Rahim Malol:

“The Municipality of Rehovot dedicates its resources to act on behalf of Holocaust survivors and take care of them throughout the year, in many ways, and I am proud of that. It is our duty and our right to embrace them. I call on residents who know Holocaust survivors – please contact us for service or bring our attention.”

Council member Dr. Roni Baum, holds a portfolio of senior citizens, community and academia:

“The Department for the Welfare of Senior Citizens in the city of Rehovot helps the Holocaust survivors and supports them with love in a variety of ways. I thank the Merav Meisner Association who manages the treatment of the Holocaust survivors and does so with dedication and professionalism.”

Anat Yoles, Director of the Department for the Welfare of Senior Citizens in the Social Services Division:

“The department is working to initiate and develop many programs for the benefit of Holocaust survivors through the coordinator of the field, Attorney Merav Meisner. We will be happy to add as many Holocaust survivors as possible to the circle of participants”
