The Volos Port Authority – OLB S.A. – has the right to use and exploit the port of Volos, the marine facilities of the fishing shelter located at the eastern end of the city’s seafront, the port facilities of Almyros and Agria. The concession agreement has a duration of 60 years from its signature and expires in 2062. The port of Volos has both an important military and energy role, as evidenced by the previous consultations, in order for the Greek Armed Forces to keep part of the land zone for their own use , but also the expressed interest in developing a liquefied natural gas regasification station in the area.

The port’s main activities today include cargo and container, steel and scrap, dry bulk and liquid cargo services, and passenger services, including ferry lines to the Sporades, as well as cruise operations.
