Klaipėda Bikers Calm Down After Fight with Weapons Found
Criminalists in Klaipėda County were called to subdue a group of aggressive bikers involved in a fight on Taikos Avenue near the Acropolis shopping and entertainment center.
The incident occurred in May when two motorcycle clubs were reportedly clarifying their relationship after a fistfight erupted. During the altercation, one person was injured.
Police arrested three suspects, ages 21, 24, and 29, on January 15th Street. A search of their car revealed prohibited weapons, including a hand grenade with an explosive charge, three knives, two telescopic sticks, and doping materials.
The investigation revealed a possible connection between the violence and the rivalry between two competing motorcycle clubs. The case was transferred to the Organized Crime Investigation Board.
Further investigation led to the discovery of a fire-bombed Mercedes-Benz car belonging to a former club member in Gargždaii. The suspect, a 29-year-old man, is suspected of setting the vehicle ablaze.
Additional searches yielded illegal weapons, including a club, crossbow, and daggers. The suspects face potential fines, arrest, restriction of liberty, or imprisonment for up to 5 years.
