Kannur: The CPM did not stop the construction of the venue of the Party Party congress (CPM Party congress 2022) in Kannur even when the people were surrounded during the national strike (Nationwide strike 2022). The construction of the venue at Nayanar Academy and Town Square is progressing day by day. Most of the workers were from other states. Kannur district secretary MV Jayarajan said that only minor work was being done and that the workers were staying there. The strike did not affect the construction of the government’s first annual rally at the Police Grounds.

Despite the government announcing that the tourism sector would be exempted from the strike, morning strikers protested and demanded that houseboat workers join the strike. Various organizations staged strikes across the state.
