Association “Tavi draugi” organizes the campaign “Sunflower Road” for the third year in a row, inviting every resident of Latvia and Ukrainians living in Latvia to join. “Sunflower Road” is dedicated to Ukraine’s tireless struggle for freedom and to every civilian resident of Ukraine in Latvia.
Participants of the march are welcome to express their support for Ukraine with sunflowers and Ukrainian symbols.
The gathering for the march will start at 11 a.m. at the Freedom Monument. At 11:30, the leader of the association “Tavi draugi” Ulvis Noviks and representatives of the Embassy of Ukraine will open the march together with the orchestra of the headquarters of the National Armed Forces under the leadership of captain-lieutenant Guntas Kumachev.
Tatyana Chirkova, a war refugee and a volunteer of the society, will also give speeches.
The participants of the march will go to Vermanes Garden, where from 12 o’clock there will be an event dedicated to the Independence Day of Ukraine and a concert “United Ukraine”.
During the concert, the “Tavi draugi” society’s design line shop and the reception point for outing donations will also be open. Visitors will have the opportunity to support Ukraine by donating stationery for schoolchildren, as well as things necessary for the Ukrainian armed forces – tea, sweets, nuts and dried fruits, canned meat and fish, hygiene products and men’s clothing.
The association, with the help of partner organizations, will deliver the donations to Ukraine and to the soldiers at the front.
