/ The Iraqi national team concluded its training on Tuesday evening in preparation for its match against Vietnam tomorrow, Wednesday, at 2:30 pm, in a match hosted by Hamad bin Jassim Stadium in Doha, owned by Al Sadd Club, as part of the third round matches of Group D of the 2023 Asian Cup.
Today’s training was hosted by Al Gharafa Club’s training centers, and was attended by the President of the Iraqi Football Association, Adnan Darjal, the first and second deputies Ali Jabbar and Younis Mahmoud, members Yahya Zaghir and Mohammed Nasser, and the Secretary-General Mohammed Farhan.
All 25 players participated in the training, and they appeared to be fully prepared, according to a statement issued by the Football Association, which was received by Agency, in order to face Vietnam tomorrow.
Before the start of training, according to the statement, there was a short lecture by the national team coach, Jesus Casas, with the players, during which he stressed the need to focus on the match, regardless of topping the group and ensuring qualification, but maintaining morale will be the most important thing for us, and moving forward in this tournament, and dealing with each match separately.
On the other hand, the position of the teams that qualified in third place in the remaining groups is still not decided, and we are waiting for the results of tomorrow’s matches and the matches after to clarify the features of the qualifiers and determine the direct competitor of the national team in the round of 16, which will be limited to the third-place holders of the second, fifth or sixth groups.
It is noteworthy that the Iraqi national team will play the round of 16 on the 29th of this month, and the match will be hosted by Khalifa International Stadium at 2:30 pm.
