England national team players celebrate (Reuters)
The European Women’s Championship kicked off today (Wednesday) with the meeting between England and Austria, in which the three Lions team went out with a small-large 0: 1 in front of the home crowd that came to support Old Trafford in Manchester.
The English dominated for the vast majority of the game and finally as mentioned came out with their hand on the top thanks to a single goal from the feet of Battani Mead, the player of Assenel, who found the net already after 16 minutes of football.
The British team occupies the first place in House A temporarily, of course, as later the teams of Norway and Northern Ireland will play. The tournament consists of four houses with four teams in each, with the first two in each house advancing to the quarterfinals.
