On the sidelines of the Davos Forum… Al-Sudani discusses investment opportunities with dozens of international companies

/ Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani discussed, on Tuesday, investment opportunities in the energy, oil and other economic sectors in Iraq, with 57 international companies.

Al-Sudani’s media office stated in a statement received by Agency that the latter held a working meeting with the heads and representatives of 57 international companies specialized in energy, oil, gas and various economic fields, on the sidelines of his participation in the Davos Economic Forum held in Switzerland.

Al-Sudani reviewed the government’s plans in the field of development and economic reform, which have made great strides, the major investment opportunities, industrial city projects, the Grand Faw Port, the vital development road, and integrated oil field projects.

Al-Sudani referred to the solar and renewable energy projects that were concluded with Chinese and Emirati companies, stressing the government’s broad orientation towards investing in gas and expanding investment opportunities in this promising sector, as well as the housing projects that have been launched, and other projects planned in all Iraqi governorates.

He stressed the importance of the banking reforms that were implemented and worked on by the Central Bank of Iraq in order to communicate with international banks to achieve compliance standards with the global financial and banking system.

Regarding strengthening stability and security in Iraq, Al-Sudani explained that the security and stability of the region depend largely on the stability of Iraq, and that any attempt to destabilize the internal situation in Iraq or threaten its security will lead to harm to the regional and international security of the Middle East.
