In the western part of the front, where the danger zone is and trees are burning, the fire is one and a half kilometers from the border. This is what the director of the State Forestry in Katuntsi, engineer Plamen Poyukov, said for BTA about the fire that is burning in Greece, near Bulgaria.

Engineer Poyukov informed that tomorrow at 5 o’clock in the morning the forest officials will once again carry out the same preventive actions as today to prevent the fire from entering our territory.

The Director of the Main Directorate “Fire Safety and Protection of the Population”, Chief Commissioner Alexander Zhartov, said that teams are guarding the fire, which is burning near the border with Greece.
