on the way back? Ben Shahar is approaching Hapoel Tel Aviv

by time news

Four months have passed since the last time Ben Shaher played football. He came on for two minutes in Maccabi Haifa’s match against Maccabi Tel Aviv, after which he was injured and was absent for a long period. But even now, when he has already returned to training, he still cannot find his place – last night (Sunday), he was not in the green squad for the game against Hapoel Jerusalem. In light of all this, Shahar is on his way back to Hapoel Tel Aviv.

The main obstacle is financial: Shahar currently earns about $20,000 a month at Maccabi Haifa, while Hapoel’s intention is to pay him only about $7,500. At this stage, Maccabi Haifa are not ready to complete the amounts.

They respect the player’s desire to get minutes, and are aware of the fact that Barak Bacher’s squad is deep enough (there are no less than three other strikers in his squad – Frantezdi Piero, Dean David and Nikita Rukavica). But in spite of all this, their demand will be that the worker’s salary will increase or, alternatively, that the actor will be paid more than a part of his salary. At this stage, such an intention should not be entertained, and all parties will have to find the formula that will bring the deal to fruition.

In Haifa, they allow Sahar to hold talks, and do not intend to stand in his way, but as they have done with other players, they will try to minimize damages and not pay most of his salary, as the Tel Aviv trade union demands. The player himself wants to return to playing football, with only nine days left until the transfer window closes The assessment is that eventually a solution will be found, and Ben Shaher will play for Hapoel Tel Aviv.

As far as Hapoel is concerned, this morning (Monday) a meeting is expected to take place with the club’s professional staff, in the presence of the new coach Slovodan Drapich, where they will discuss, among other things, the name of Shahar. As you may remember, last summer Maccabi Haifa fought with Hapoel Tel Aviv for the services of the striker. Recently Har returned to training and is fit to play, but due to the injury the team has already armed itself in the front and he was left out.
