jpnn.comJAKARTA – Aston Villa have brought in midfielder Amadou Onana from Everton to strengthen their midfield.

Onana, who is also a player from Belgium, was contracted for five years worth 64 million euros (Rp. 1.13 trillion).

The former Hamburg, Lille and Everton midfielder will fill the void left by Brazilian midfielder Douglas Luiz who moved to Juventus earlier this month.

“Aston Villa is delighted to announce the arrival of Amadou Onana from Everton,” Aston Villa said on its website on Tuesday (23/7).

Despite Onana’s poor form with Everton, Villa coach Unai Emery is keen to bring in a player who performed well during Euro 2024.

Onana, who is still 22 years old, has played 17 times for Belgium in the past two years.

During his time at Everton, the tall midfielder, who is 198 centimeters tall, has appeared on the field 72 times and scored four goals.

Senegal-born Onana is interested in joining Aston Villa as they look to compete in the Champions League in the 2024-25 season after finishing fourth last season.
